 Tom Tarrer was born in 1927 in Chatfield, Texas. He taught himself to draw and carve when he was in his thirties starting with drawings and then carving from the drawings. |
In 1995, Tarrer began painting with acrylics
on poster board. His subject matter includes western scenes, historical
events, humorous scenes, and memories from his youth. His work has been
featured in several folk art shows, most recently in
"Spirited Journeys: Self-taught Texas Artists of the Twentieth
Century".
