This distinctive lithograph is by Paul Sample. It is a charming winter scene with a covered bridge and a group of people skiing. Sample maintained a studio in Hanover, New Hampshire and became noted as a regional artist renowned for his New England scenes. This lithograph is a great example of his work. It is pencil signed in the lower left margin "Paul Sample" and numbered "407" in pencil on the back. This lithograph is in very nice condition with only light spotting/foxing that doesn't overly distract from the appearance of the work. The lithograph has never been framed. It is attached to its original mat, as sold, with paper tape around the perimeter. The mat is somewhat toned and will need to be replaced. It measures 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" visible with an overall matted size of 14" x 18".
