vase by tapio wirkkala for iittala


Tapio Wirkkala (1915 - 1985) is known as a multi-talented genius of Finnish design. His scope extended from glassware to banknote design and utility graphics. During an active career, Wirkkala participated in many international exhibitions and was artistic director of the School for Industrial Arts in Helsinki between 1951 and 1954.

Here is a TAPIO WIRKKALA COBALT VASE. The vase is 8 inches high with a circumference of 13 inches at the widest section. The vase weighs three pounds and is in excellent condition. No chips, scratches, cracks or repairs and is signed "Tapio Wirkkala 3581". The beautiful blue and clear glass vase also retains the Iittali label.
