Here is a "Ruyi." The Ruyi was a means of helping royalty without touching them. The Ruyi brings good luck. Ruyi means "as one wishes" This is a beautiful example with wonderful carving of a dragon. The Ruyi is carved from one piece of wood. I am not familiar with the type of wood, but the carving is exquisite. The Ruyi is 13.5 inches long and 3.5 inches wide.
